Looking at Current Events through Seth’s Eyes

Posted April 4, 2012

Lately, I’ve been reading 3 Seth books simultaneously: ‘Seth Speaks’, ‘The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events’ and ‘The Nature of Personal Reality’.
At the same time, like everyone else, I’ve been watching the unfolding of the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case.
Quite a juxtaposition.

And I’ve been meeting myself coming and going on the matter of the earthbound issue:
On the one hand, I visit online forums and write about the obviously racist nature of both the original crime and the police response to it.
On the other, I find myself speculating about the nature of a possible agreement between Trayvon and George and, quite possibly, Trayvon’s parents, the policemen involved and even members of the media.
~ ~ ~
Here’s my line of thought – see what you think:
First, according to Seth, Michael and others, we often agree, between lifetimes, to take on fairly massive undertakings in order to move forward in our individual evolutions. Occasionally, we also agree to a larger plan to move a group of people forward.

Second, Michael and Seth have both alluded to a massive movement among the entire population of the planet. While Seth doesn’t couch the progression as an evolution into the Mature Soul Cycle as Michael does, it does mention such a development in several of the books it co-authored with Jane Roberts.
~ ~ ~
Now, just suppose that Trayvon and George decided, prior to their respective births, to address the issue of racism in this country and in the world at large. After all, if we are to move into the Mature Soul cycle we are going to need to let go of the fear and ignorance that make racism possible. It’s time we start the process, right?
But, let’s face it, it isn’t going to be easy to let go of the Baby-based fears or the Young-based wish to control that have dominated the nation and the planet for so long. If we want to kick-start the process, we’re going to need a massive wake-up call. So, enter Trayvon and George to help us get things moving.

I know it doesn’t look it from our vantage, but Trayvon drew the decidedly longer straw, here. His part in the agreement is done. He is now on the Astral Plane. The hard part, from his perspective, is completed although he may continue to work from offstage, so to speak, to help steer the course. George, on the other hand, still has a lot of work to do. Add to that the fact that he doesn’t consciously remember his original agreement. All he knows, at this point, is that he is running for his life and that he needs to find a way to justify his actions.

From our perspective, again, he will continue to look like a person who acts out his racism violently. But he MAY be nothing of the sort.

Now, as to the police’ massive bungling of the case:
It may be more than the simple sweeping-under-the-rug situation that we’ve seen happen so many times throughout this nation’s history. They COULD be part of the plan designed to move the planet forward. Of course, they could just as easily be a part of the majority of the population who need to be moved and they simply got a front row seat at the spectacle. In fact, they could be split — with some being included in the original plan and others on the outside looking in. From our perspective, there’s no way to know if any of the police are involved in such a plan or, if some of them are, to distinguish those who are from those who are not.

OK, I know my chosen Goal and Attitude are showing here [acceptance and idealism].
But, if Michael and Seth are to be believed and we ARE moving toward the Mature mindset and, given the fact that we’re going to have to let go of our racist fear-of-the-‘other’ views and our issues regarding control-of-others in order to get there, this COULD be what’s happening here, couldn’t it?

And, yes, as a matter of fact, this incident MIGHT be one of a chain of events that has been going on for some time. After all, given how entrenched racism, fear, ignorance and control are in our consciousness, it’s probably going to take many, many such occurrences to get us to, finally, wake up and see the truth behind the fears and resultant lies.

So this might be just another in a long line that includes Martin Luther King, Medgar Evers, Malcolm X, Rodney King, James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner and we could be in for even more such incidents – – and they might become even more outrageous than those we have seen to date.

Oh, goody.

Addendum:
Speaking of more incidents that are even more outrageous, consider the case of Jake England and Alvin Watts. While the media were quick to note that they couldn’t be certain that the crimes were racially motivated, the two men have reportedly admitted that that was, indeed, the case.

Is this simply a case of pure bigotry? Or might it be a wake-up call to the rest of us just as the Martin/Zimmerman case might be?
I like to think so. Holding onto the idea keeps me sane and that’s a Good Thing.
